Forsaken Frontiers Items, Strategies and the Best Tips

Welcome to my guide for Forsaken Frontiers! Here, I’ll share essential tips and strategies that have helped me manage debt, tackle enemies, and progress through the game effectively.

Balance, Debt, & Progression

Managing Debt

  • Paying Debt: Make sure to pay my debt every 3 days. It’s crucial because every $1 I earn translates to $100 off my total debt.
  • Deaths Matter: I’ve learned that each time I die, my debt increases, so I try to be cautious.

Survival Tips

  • Build Funds Early: Focus on building up my funds at the beginning. This reserve helps me avoid unnecessary purchases later on.
  • Resource Management: Using my resources wisely is key; I only buy items on sale when absolutely necessary.

Enemies

General Tips

  • Outrunning Monsters: Most monsters can be outrun, but I stay cautious, especially around the Ventress when it’s wounded.
  • Listen for Breathing: Always listen for breathing sounds; this means an enemy is nearby, and I either hide or escape.
  • Door Slamming: I’ve found that slamming doors in an enemy’s face can briefly stun them. It takes practice to time it right.
  • Proximity Chat: Generally use proximity chat safely, but I avoid it near the spider since it might attract unwanted attention.
  • Radio Comms: I like to communicate over radio since enemies can’t hear it.
  • Baiting Enemies: Kick doors or trigger alarms strategically to draw enemies away from my teammates.

Enemy Types

  • Spider:
    • This enemy moves quickly and can detect sound. I avoid sprinting unless I’m using shadowstep and try to crouch-walk to stay quiet.
    • If it catches someone, it can cocoon them, so I only release my teammates when it’s safe to avoid attracting more enemies.
  • The Butcher/Chainsawman/Nancy:
    • This one agros based on sound and sight. If I get caught, it’s painful—I try to keep my distance!
  • Forsaken/Patient/Zombie:
    • These guys move fast but can only see directly in front of them. I hide until they leave since they can’t hear.
  • Siren/Screamer:
    • They attract other enemies, so I watch my step. They only see in front, so I can sometimes safely run past them.
  • Ventress/Grudge/Hunter:
    • I’ve noticed they tend to target isolated players, so I stick with my teammates.

Maps & Modifiers

Maps

  • Loot Probability: Each map has a Remaining Value for loot, which I’ve learned recharges over a few days by playing other maps.
  • Metro: I avoid corners in the long tunnels, especially around chainsaw and spider enemies.
  • Hotel: The open areas are great for using elevators to escape quickly.
  • Hospital: I find that screamers can attract hordes, so bolt cutters are super useful for locked rooms.
Forsaken-Frontiers
Forsaken-Frontiers
  • Tunnels: This map is challenging, and I always bring tools like lanterns and bolt cutters to succeed.
  • Pentagon: This special event map is only accessible if my debt is paid.

Map Modifiers

  • None: Standard gameplay.
  • Surplus: More loot available.
  • Vigor: Increased stamina is a game-changer.
  • Shadowstep: I love quieter footsteps for stealth.
  • Fog: Reduced visibility adds a level of challenge.
  • EMP: Disabling electronics helps with strategy.
  • Dread: The heavy breathing can be unsettling.
  • Infestation: Be prepared for heavy enemy spawns.
  • Blackout: Power outages can make things tense.
  • Nightmare: Increased enemies at a certain time makes for a thrilling challenge.

Player States

  • Alive: Full health.
  • Injured: Half health, which slows me down.
  • Downed: I can crawl when downed, but it’s risky.
  • Cocooned: If I’m cocooned, I can’t move at all.
  • Hung: Bleeding out in the Butcher’s room is a nightmare.
  • Dead: Out of the game.

Items

  • Walkie Talkie: I find this essential for teamwork; enemies can’t hear my radio comms.
  • Bolt Cutters: A great tool for silent door openings, but I watch their durability.
  • Lantern: I rely on this for lighting in the Tunnels without making noise.
  • Flashlight: Strong directional light, but I have to hold it to use it.
  • Pagers: These can alert enemies, so I use them with caution.
  • Medkit: A lifesaver that heals me and extends survival.
  • Adrenaline: I love having this for infinite stamina and self-revival.

Strategies, Tips, & Tricks

Beginner Strategies

  • Teamwork: I always work in pairs to optimize our chances of survival.
  • Hiding: I hide under desks and shut doors on enemies to avoid detection.
  • Baiting: I kick doors or set off alarms to distract enemies while my teammates progress.

With these tips, I’ve navigated the challenges of Forsaken Frontiers more effectively, and I hope they help you too!
