8BitDo has opened preorders on two officially licensed controllers built to mark thirty years since Lara Croft's first descent into the Peruvian tomb that started it all, confirming pricing, specs and a shipping date for both pads on its Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition landing page. The Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad and Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox went live for order on 8BitDo's own storefront on September 24, priced at $79.99 and $119.99 respectively, with both listings promising delivery by October 24.

Two Controllers, Two Eras of Lara Croft

Rather than release a single commemorative pad, 8BitDo split the anniversary across its two current flagship lines and pointed each one at a different chapter of the franchise's history. The Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad looks backward, drawing its color story and iconography from the original 1996 Tomb Raider and the Lost Valley level that introduced players to Lara Croft and her signature T-Rex encounter. The Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox instead spans the full 30 years, its design referencing four distinct eras of the character model, from the original PlayStation-era Lara through Angel of Darkness, Legend and the Survivor trilogy.

Pro 3: Sandstone, Vines and a Golden Puzzle Mechanism

8BitDo's product page describes the Pro 3's shell as built from sandstone tones and ancient wall textures meant to evoke weathered ruins, with a creeping-vine pattern standing in for the Lost Valley's jungle canopy and a golden circular mechanism on the face referencing the tomb puzzles the series is known for. Underneath the theming, the Pro 3 keeps its normal flagship spec sheet: TMR joysticks with 12-bit ADC sampling and wear-resistant rings, Hall-effect triggers with a physical mode switch, a recalibrated eight-way D-pad, magnetic ABXY face buttons stamped with Atlantean-style symbols that can be swapped between Xbox and Nintendo Switch layouts, and a pair of Pro-level L4/R4 back buttons.
