Funcom Brings Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced to PS5 in Early 2027
Funcom and Astrolabe's cozy skyship survival game Aloft makes its console debut on PS5 alongside a free Conan Exiles Enhanced upgrade, both arriving early 2027.
Funcom and development partner Astrolabe Interactive are expanding two of their open-world survival games onto PlayStation 5, confirming through the PlayStation Blog that both Aloft and Conan Exiles Enhanced are headed to Sony's console in early 2027.
The announcement lands weeks after Funcom's Dune: Awakening made its own PS5 debut, continuing the publisher's push to bring its catalog of survival titles to console players who have so far only been able to follow the games' growth on PC. Both Aloft and Conan Exiles have built sizable PC communities during their respective Early Access and live-service runs, and neither has previously had an official PS5 release.

Aloft Makes Its Console Debut After Six Years in Development
Aloft, the cooperative sandbox survival game in which players rebuild floating islands into skyships and explore a colorful world among the clouds, is making its first appearance on a console. Developed by Astrolabe Interactive and published by Funcom, the PS5 edition folds in every update released during the game's Steam Early Access run plus the full 1.0 experience, giving console players the complete version at launch rather than a staged rollout.
Since entering Early Access, Aloft has received five major content updates adding new wildlife, puzzles, combat improvements, glider customization and expanded exploration, all of which carry over to the PS5 version. The game tasks players with curing a mysterious fungal corruption, caring for airborne creatures and surviving storms while restoring the world's ecosystem, solo or with friends.
Conan Exiles Enhanced Arrives as a Free Upgrade for PlayStation Owners
Conan Exiles is also heading to PS5 in its overhauled Enhanced form, and Funcom is treating it as an upgrade rather than a new purchase for existing fans: anyone who already owns Conan Exiles on PlayStation will receive the PS5 Enhanced version for free. Both the PS4 and PS5 editions will remain purchasable separately, and buying either unlocks the other at no extra cost, with previously purchased Bazaar items and DLC carrying over automatically.
The Enhanced edition rebuilds the decade-old survival game's environments, character models, lighting and effects, and ships with a redesigned interface alongside broader performance and quality-of-life improvements. Funcom says the update also smooths out exploration across the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah, though Siptah itself remains a separate purchase.
Conan Exiles originally launched on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2018 and has been kept alive since through regular DLC chapters and seasonal content drops rather than a full sequel. Rebuilding it as Conan Exiles Enhanced, rather than shipping a stripped-down console port, suggests Funcom is treating the PS5 version as the long-term baseline for the game going forward.
“This will mark a new era for the game – we really hope you will be part of our flight.”Jarle Hrafn Grindhaug, Communications Manager, Funcom

A New Story Arc Ships Day One on Console
Console players won't be waiting for Conan Exiles Enhanced's newest content, either. The Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc, which sends players digging into the lost history of Conan's ancient Giant-Kings, is included in the PS5 launch build rather than arriving as a later update, putting console owners on equal footing with the PC version from day one.
- Aloft: full 1.0 experience plus five major content updates, available at console launch
- Conan Exiles Enhanced: redesigned UI, upgraded visuals and the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story arc included day one
- Both titles: PS4-to-PS5 ownership carries over for Conan Exiles, and Bazaar purchases transfer automatically
What's Next
Funcom has not yet set exact release dates for either game, saying only that both are targeting early 2027 and that further details will follow. Both titles are already listed for wishlisting on the PlayStation Store ahead of launch.
For a publisher that has spent the better part of this year widening its console footprint, the double PS5 announcement signals Funcom is leaning further into survival games as its core business, following Dune: Awakening onto Sony's hardware and giving two established PC communities a long-awaited console home. With no firm release dates yet, the next concrete update to watch for is likely a release-date reveal closer to the start of 2027, when Funcom says it will share further specifics for both games.
