Guild Wars 2 Wraps Up Visions of Eternity With the Code of Creation Finale
ArenaNet closed out Visions of Eternity on September 15 with Code of Creation, adding a raid, a fractal, a new zone and a galaxy-themed legendary sword.
ArenaNet closed out Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity on September 15 with Code of Creation, the expansion's third and final quarterly release. The update sends the Commander and their ally Isgarren back into the depths of Castora to stop Kuda's Inquest before it can finish what the rogue asura started, wrapping the story arc that began when Visions of Eternity launched in October 2025.

Six chapters close out the story in Leyspring Hollows
The update's new zone, Leyspring Hollows, opens up a cavernous stretch of Castora that six new story chapters walk players through as they chase down Kuda and the magic-warped forces still loyal to Vloxx. ArenaNet has framed it as the payoff to threads it has been building since the expansion's launch, closing the loop on both the Inquest subplot and the fate of the island's ley-line network.
The update ships alongside a fresh Guild Wars 2 patch that folds in balance changes and bug fixes on top of the new content, and it lands as the last scheduled quarterly release for this expansion cycle.
A raid, a fractal, and a mastery line built around rifts
Endgame players get two new encounters built around the same fight: a 10-player raid and an up-to-50-player convergence, both called Nexus of Eternity, plus a five-person fractal named Solitary Throne. All three are tied to Leyspring Hollows and its ley-line rifts rather than sitting off in a separate wing.
Those rifts also drive the update's new mastery line, Rift Amplification, which unlocks in four tiers: Rift Tears opens alternate routes to active rifts through the Heart of the Obscure, Overcharged Rifts adds an optional harder difficulty with better rewards, and the last two tiers extend both abilities to every rift across Tyria rather than just the ones in Castora.
Wages of Stars leads a new wave of legendary and vault rewards
The headline cosmetic is Wages of Stars, a new legendary sword built around a galaxy motif, with a constellation draw animation, starry footfalls, and a dedicated finisher. Story completion also unlocks the Tenebral Ward armor set, and the raid and convergence drop a Shining Ward weapon set along with a Volatile Ascension infusion and a pair of Vloxx-themed combat tonics.
A new Wizard's Vault season runs alongside the update, adding the Gwyl Knight weapon set, four pieces of Ward Hunter armor, and a Bird Pond Chair for players' homesteads. Beyond those headline pieces, ArenaNet is also adding a run of miniatures, emotes, relics, and seer-themed homestead decorations tied to the story and the two endgame encounters, plus its usual title, achievement, and collection rewards for players who clear the harder content.
ArenaNet is also running Twitch drops through September 20 for anyone who watches Code of Creation streams, with rewards ranging from an item booster at the one-hour mark up to an Arcane Occultist's hat after six hours watched, and it pressed a 2xLP vinyl release of the Visions of Eternity soundtrack that's up for preorder now.

What it means for the expansion going forward
Code of Creation being the third and final quarterly release doesn't mean ArenaNet is done with Guild Wars 2; it means Visions of Eternity's own content roadmap is complete, and the studio's post-launch attention shifts to whatever comes after it. ArenaNet had been building toward this release since August, teasing the September 15 date well before it detailed any of the raid, fractal, or reward content above. For now, the update gives raid and fractal groups a new endgame target, gives casual players a homestead-focused vault season to work through, and gives story players a clean stopping point on Castora before the next expansion cycle gets announced.
Full patch notes for the September 15 update are posted on the official forums, and the complete list of new achievements, collections, and Wizard's Vault rewards is tracked on the official Guild Wars 2 wiki.
The journey continues. Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity: Code of Creation arrives September 15. Are you ready?
