Conan Exiles Enhanced Is Coming to PS5 in Early 2027 as a Free Upgrade

Funcom's free Unreal Engine 5 overhaul of Conan Exiles is heading to PS5 in early 2027, linking the Exiled Lands to Isle of Siptah for the first time.

Funcom used a PlayStation Blog post on October 27 to confirm what Conan Exiles players on console have been asking for since May: Conan Exiles Enhanced, the free Unreal Engine 5 overhaul that relaunched the eight-year-old survival game on PC earlier this year, is coming to PS5 in early 2027. The announcement arrives alongside a new PS5 announcement trailer on PlayStation's own YouTube channel, and it answers a question Funcom had previously left open: whether the Steam-only rebuild would ever reach consoles at all.

A Free Upgrade for Every Existing Owner

Funcom's Jarle Hrafn Grindhaug, the studio's Communications Manager, framed the console rollout as part of a bigger PlayStation push for the studio this year. Anyone who already owns Conan Exiles on PS4 will receive the PS5 Enhanced version at no extra cost, and the two versions will be cross-bought: purchasing either edition unlocks the other. Progress carries forward too, with Crom Coins, Bazaar cosmetics, owned DLC and Twitch Drops all transferring from the PS4 version to its PS5 successor.

The rebuild itself is the same one that shipped on Steam on May 5, 2026, as a free update for existing PC owners. Funcom has described that update as reworking the game's environments, characters, lighting and effects on Unreal Engine 5, alongside a redesigned interface and broad performance and quality-of-life fixes. None of that changes Conan Exiles' core pitch: a condemned prisoner, rescued from crucifixion by Conan himself, is dropped into the Exiled Lands to survive, build and fight using sorcery and combo-driven combat.

Isle of Siptah Finally Joins the Map

The most significant change for console players isn't just the visual pass. According to Funcom, this is the first time the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah expansion have been connected directly, rather than existing as separate, unconnected maps players had to travel between through menus. Siptah itself remains a separate purchase on top of the base game, but the Enhanced edition also folds in a new story arc, Legacy of the Giant-Kings, that will be available at console launch rather than arriving later as a follow-up update.

For a game that first launched in May 2018 and has spent most of the years since adding piecemeal content on top of its original Age of Conan-adjacent engine, stitching the two major landmasses into one continuous world is as much a structural fix as a visual one.

The Old Servers Have an Expiration Date

Funcom is also using the PS5 announcement to start winding down the version Enhanced replaces. Conan Exiles' official PlayStation servers and its in-game Bazaar storefront are scheduled to shut down on January 26, 2027, specifically to prepare for the Enhanced launch, according to the game's listing on the PlayStation Store. Privately hosted servers aren't affected by that date and will keep running on the older build.

That gives console players a firm, if still vague, window: Enhanced has to be live on PS5 by the time those official servers go dark, even though Funcom has not yet named an exact release date beyond "early 2027." It also means anyone currently playing on an official PS4 or PS5 server has a deadline to either migrate progress or make peace with losing access to matchmade servers and the cosmetics storefront until the new version arrives.

Part of a Bigger Funcom Push on PlayStation

The Conan Exiles Enhanced reveal shared its PlayStation Blog post with another Funcom console announcement: Aloft, the studio's cozy co-op sky-survival game, is also heading to PS5 in early 2027, bringing five major content updates it has picked up since Steam Early Access. Grindhaug tied the two together as evidence Funcom is leaning further into PlayStation after bringing its MMO Dune: Awakening to PS5 earlier this year, rather than treating Conan Exiles Enhanced as an isolated console port.

For now, Funcom's own Conan Exiles site and store listings still point to the Steam-only Enhanced build, with the PS5 version tracked only through this week's blog post and trailer. A firmer release date, along with word on whether an Xbox version follows the same path, is the next thing to watch for before early 2027 arrives.
