Persona 4 Revival's Naoto Sizzle Trailer Completes an Eight-Character Rollout

Xbox's own channel posted the 1:29 Naoto Shirogane sizzle at Tokyo Game Show, finishing Persona 4 Revival's cast reveals ahead of its February 18 launch.

Persona 4 Revival's marketing has spent months introducing the Investigation Team one member at a time, and the last name on that list finally got her turn during Xbox's Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast on September 17. The "Naoto Sizzle" trailer, posted straight to Xbox's own YouTube channel, gives the detective a proper spotlight ahead of ATLUS's February 18, 2027 remake of the 2008 mystery RPG.

A Detective Arrives Last, On Purpose

Naoto Shirogane is Persona 4's fifth-generation detective, sent to Inaba to investigate the same string of murders that draws in the protagonist and his friends. The 1:29 trailer leans into that framing, cutting between Naoto working a case alone and Naoto standing alongside the rest of the team once her Persona, Sukuna-Hikona, awakens. It is the shortest of the character sizzles ATLUS has released for this remake, and also the most tightly focused: almost every shot ties back to her role as an investigator rather than to slice-of-life scenes at school.

The trailer also doubles as a voice introduction. Amber Lee Connors takes over the English performance, stepping into a role that carries a lot of history with returning players, while Romi Park continues in Japanese. Between the two casts, the video gives newcomers and longtime fans a first real listen before the full game arrives.

Naoto's design carries over her signature deerstalker cap and oversized trench coat, rebuilt with the same higher-fidelity character models ATLUS has used for the rest of the cast. Official screenshots posted alongside an earlier art reveal in late August already previewed those model updates outside of any trailer, and the Naoto Sizzle largely confirms what that still art suggested: sharper cloth physics, a more detailed Sukuna-Hikona summon animation, and lighting that matches the moodier, more cinematic palette ATLUS has used throughout Revival's marketing.

The Investigation Team, Now Fully Revealed

Naoto's sizzle is the eighth and final entry in a rollout that ATLUS has been running since earlier this year, following individual trailers for Yu, Chie, Yosuke, Yukiko, Kanji, Rise and Teddie. Taken together, the set functions as a cast reveal for players who never played the 2008 original on PS2 or its Golden re-release, while giving longtime fans a look at how each character has been rebuilt for current hardware.

That rebuild was the explicit goal from the start. Persona 4 Revival's general producer discussed that approach on the official Xbox Podcast in late August, framing the remake as a way to hand the original's story back to players rather than replace it.

What Tokyo Game Show Hands-On Time Showed

The Naoto trailer landed during the same Tokyo Game Show week that gave press their first extended hands-on time with the remake. Preview coverage from the show floor pointed to the same elements ATLUS has emphasized all year: new anime cutscenes produced by MAPPA studio slotted between rebuilt 3D character models, an early boss encounter built around Yosuke's shadow, and a battle system that keeps Persona 4's turn-based structure while giving it a more modern interface. None of that footage featured Naoto directly, since her arc unlocks later in the story, but it confirmed the presentation the character trailers have been selling all along.

ATLUS has not detailed how far into the game Naoto's own dungeon segment will run, and nothing shown this week changes that. Anything about her specific gameplay beyond the trailer's brief action beats remains unconfirmed. Hands-on impressions from the show floor were also mixed on dungeon design specifically, describing the crawling segments shown as functional rather than a major structural overhaul, even as the surrounding cutscenes and menus drew consistent praise.

Release Plans Are Locked In

Persona 4 Revival launches February 18, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Xbox Play Anywhere support and day-one inclusion in Xbox Game Pass. A Steam version is also confirmed for that date, and a Nintendo Switch 2 release follows on May 20, 2027. With the character trailers finished, ATLUS's remaining marketing runway between now and launch is likely to shift toward gameplay systems and dungeon design rather than more cast introductions.

“Our goal wasn't simply to remake Persona 4. We wanted to bring the Persona 4 experience itself vividly back to life for a new generation of players, while allowing long-time fans to experience it anew.”Kazuhisa Wada, General Producer of the Persona team at ATLUS

For a game built almost entirely around its cast, saving Naoto for the very last trailer reads as a deliberate choice rather than a scheduling gap. She was the one character original players spent the game slowly getting to trust, and ATLUS closing the reveal calendar with her mirrors that structure. Whether the remake finds new ways to build that same trust across a full playthrough is the question the Naoto Sizzle trailer can only tease, not answer.
