Privacy
The short version: we do not ask you to make an account, and the only thing we ask you to hand over is an email address, and only if you want the newsletter.
What we collect
- Nothing to read the site. You do not need an account and we do not ask for your name.
- Your email address, if you subscribe. We use it to send the newsletter and for nothing else. Every edition carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address.
- Anything you type into the contact form, so that we can reply to you.
- Basic traffic statistics, such as which pages were viewed and roughly where visitors came from. We use this to decide what to write next.
Content embedded from other companies
Our articles embed video and social posts from the companies that published them, because showing you the original is better than describing it. Those embeds are served by other companies and are subject to their own privacy policies:
- YouTube. Trailers and showcases are embedded through youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set tracking cookies until you press play. Once you play a video, Google's terms apply.
- X. Where we quote an official post, the embed loads from X and X can see that request.
- Publisher image servers. Screenshots and key art are loaded from the developer's or publisher's own servers, so those servers see the request. We send no referrer information with them.
Cookies
We do not set advertising or profiling cookies of our own. Advertising served on the site and the embeds described above may set their own, and you can block or clear them in your browser at any time.
Your data
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form and we will deal with it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page rather than quietly editing it.
