NVIDIA's GeForce 617.14 Driver Preps RTX GPUs for CONTROL Resonant and Gears of War: E-Day
NVIDIA's new GeForce 617.14 Game Ready Driver tunes RTX GPUs for four launches in nine days: CONTROL Resonant, Gears of War: E-Day, AION 2 and The Witcher 3 Remastered.
NVIDIA shipped a new GeForce Game Ready Driver on September 22, tuning RTX graphics cards for four PC releases landing within the next two weeks. The WHQL-certified 617.14 build adds day-one optimizations for CONTROL Resonant, Gears of War: E-Day, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and AION 2, and it is available now through the NVIDIA app and GeForce.com.

What the New Driver Changes
Game Ready drivers exist to pre-tune GPU settings, DLSS profiles and ray-tracing paths for specific titles before they launch, so owners of RTX cards do not hit stutter or missing features on day one. This release is unusually front-loaded, covering three big-budget console ports and a global MMORPG launch, all inside a nine-day window between September 24 and October 6. NVIDIA laid out the specifics for each game in its own Game Ready driver announcement.
CONTROL Resonant: Path Tracing and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation
Remedy Entertainment's CONTROL Resonant launches September 24 with a full path-traced lighting model layered onto the original CONTROL's ray-traced showcase, plus DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation to keep those effects running smoothly. Players stepping into Dylan Faden's paranatural-warped Manhattan on a GeForce RTX 50 Series card can also claim a Steam copy of the game through a hardware bundle NVIDIA is running through September 29.
Gears of War: E-Day Debuts RTX Mega Geometry
The Coalition and People Can Fly's prequel Gears of War: E-Day enters early access October 1 ahead of a full release October 6, and it is the first game to pair NVIDIA's new RTX Mega Geometry technology with Unreal Engine 5.8's Nanite system, letting the driver ray-trace Nanite-generated geometry directly rather than falling back on lower-detail proxies. NVIDIA says that combination, alongside MegaLights ray-traced shadows from up to 100 light sources and Lumen global illumination, pushes object fidelity up to 100 times beyond 2019's Gears 5. DLSS Super Resolution, Multi Frame Generation and Reflex round out the RTX feature set for the Emergence Day origin story of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered and AION 2 Join the List
CD PROJEKT RED's free Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered upgrade arrives September 29 for existing owners on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside new native versions for Nintendo Switch 2 and, through a fresh partnership with Blizzard Entertainment, Battle.net. The 617.14 driver adds path tracing built on line-swept-sphere hair rendering, an upgrade to the game's original HairWorks tech, plus DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Multi Frame Generation rated for up to 6x frame multiplication on RTX 50 Series cards.
NC's fantasy MMORPG AION 2 rounds out the list. After launching in Korea and Taiwan late last year, the Unreal Engine 5 game opens globally to Founder's Pack buyers on September 30 before its full free-to-play release on October 5, with DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Multi Frame Generation support built in from day one.

Bug Fixes and Availability
Beyond the four Game Ready profiles, 617.14 folds in three fixes NVIDIA had flagged as outstanding. It resolves a bug that stopped Judgment, Lost Judgment and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. from launching after a prior update to driver 616.56, corrects a no-display issue on Samsung's Odyssey G95NC monitor when connected over HDMI, and fixes certain monitors failing to wake from sleep over DisplayPort.
