Sony's PlayStation Plus Game Catalog is getting one of its most stacked rotations of the year on October 20, when subscribers gain access to Mafia: The Old Country, a freshly re-released Horizon Forbidden West, and the day-one arrival of co-op shooter Mycopunk. Sony Interactive Entertainment's Adam Michel, Senior Director of Content Acquisition & Operations, detailed the full lineup on the PlayStation Blog on October 14, alongside a run of Premium-only classics, game trials and a HorrorFest-themed batch of seasonal extras.

Three new Game Catalog headliners

Hangar 13's 2025 prequel Mafia: The Old Country joins PS Plus Extra and Premium on PS5 starting October 20, bringing the full Sicilian crime saga to subscribers roughly fourteen months after its original launch. It arrives the same day as Horizon Forbidden West, which returns to the Game Catalog as a PS Plus re-release on both PS5 and PS4, giving subscribers another way into Guerrilla Games' post-apocalyptic sequel on top of whatever access they already have through the PlayStation Plus Collection or a standalone purchase.

The biggest new addition is Mycopunk, which leaves Early Access and reaches its full 1.0 release on PC and PS5 the same day, October 20, and lands on the Game Catalog worldwide at launch. Developer Pigeons at Play and publisher Devolver Digital's 42-second 1.0 Release Date Trailer confirms the four-player co-op shooter's jump out of Early Access, along with new guns, grenades, maps and a playable character added for the full launch. It is the rare Game Catalog addition that debuts on PS Plus the same day it leaves Early Access anywhere.

Premium-only additions and later arrivals

PS Plus Premium subscribers get two additional classics on October 20: Capcom's Dino Crisis 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition, both playable on PS5 and PS4. A second wave follows later in the month: Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 and Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition join the Game Catalog on October 27 in the US, UK and Japan, alongside racing title Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game. One title actually predates the October 20 wave: horror adventure The Midnight Walk, playable on PS5 and in VR with PS VR2, became available on October 14 in the US and UK and October 15 in Japan, ahead of everything else in this cycle.

Game trials and HorrorFest extras

Premium subscribers also get two new Game Trials on October 20: Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and Mortal Shell II, both of which let members sample a slice of the full game before deciding whether to buy it. Running alongside them is a HorrorFest batch of seasonal content, including a Vibrant Halloween skin pack for World War Z and a Tunnels of Terror pack for Back 4 Blood, both live October 20. Dead by Daylight players on Extra and Premium can unlock a Buccaneer Buds charm if the community collectively reaches 10 million matches between October 20 and October 26, a community goal rather than an individual one.

Discounts and a film tie-in

Back 4 Blood gets extra attention this cycle: its Tunnels of Terror Expansion 1 is free for members from October 21 through November 4, while the game's second and third DLC packs and its Annual Pass drop 95% in price over the same window. Separately, PS Plus members with a Sony Pictures Core account can claim a discount on the "Until Dawn" film adaptation starting October 28, with the offer running through November 3 in supported regions that have access to the Sony Pictures Core app on PS4 or PS5.

What's confirmed, what isn't

Sony's post does not list any games scheduled to leave the Game Catalog this cycle, and the company has not published a separate departures notice alongside this announcement. Subscribers checking their library on October 20 should expect additions rather than removals based on what PlayStation has confirmed so far; any departure list, if one arrives, would come from a future PlayStation Blog post rather than this one. For a lineup this heavy on both new releases and Premium-only classics, that is a notably clean rollout with no caveats buried in the fine print.

Mycopunk's 1.0 Release Date Trailer, posted by developer Pigeons at Play, confirms the shooter's October 20 jump out of Early Access on PC and PS5.
