Street Fighter 6 Adds Arjun, a Framed Ex-Cop Turned Brutal New Fighter

Capcom's second Year 4 DLC character, Arjun, is live in Street Fighter 6 — a framed former police officer whose slow, punishing style rewards patience.

Street Fighter 6's roster grew by one fighter this week as Capcom brought Arjun, the second character of the Year 4 pass, into the game on October 13. He joins Yasmine, who arrived back in August, with two more Year 4 additions, Final Fantasy VII's Tifa Lockhart and a fighter named Bosch, still to come in 2027. Arjun unlocked automatically for owners of the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass, and he can also be bought on his own with in-game Fighter Coins.

A Framed Cop on the Run

Capcom's own character bio casts Arjun as a former police officer in India who was framed for the murder of his partner and has spent the time since on the run, trying to clear his name. Before he picked up a badge, the bio notes, he dreamed of becoming an actor, a detail that fits a fighter built around theatrical, oversized gestures. He stands 6'9" and weighs in at 320 pounds, making him one of the heaviest additions to the roster since launch, and he's voiced by Pranshu Mishra. Capcom's bio rounds him out with a handful of smaller details too: he loves Bollywood films and hunting for fossils in his downtime, and can't stand undercooked biryani.

Yoga Breathing: A Slow, Punishing Toolkit

Arjun fights with what Capcom calls a Yoga Breathing style, trading mobility for weight behind every hit. His moves, including the sweeping Arm of Justice and the multi-hit Divine Pillar combo, lean on a recoverable damage system: chip damage taken while blocking can be earned back by landing hits afterward, which rewards patient counter-play over constant pressure. Capcom's own announcement post for the character framed him around three distinct Super Arts built for punishing opponents who try to rush him down.

Getting Started With Arjun

New players jumping into his toolkit should expect a learning curve, since the recoverable damage mechanic punishes mashing far more harshly than Street Fighter 6's faster characters do. Readers who want his unlock requirements and full combo list mapped out step by step can find that breakdown already published, which is a useful companion for anyone trying him out in Ranked or the Battle Hub this week.

A Mixed Reception at Launch

Response to Arjun's reveal trailer was split. Some players praised the inventive, grounded design and the way his recoverable damage system changes how matches against him have to be played, while others criticized his look as generic next to Street Fighter 6's more stylized cast, and pointed out that a few of his animations echo moves already seen on other characters. Capcom has not commented on the criticism directly, and balance patches for new DLC characters typically follow within their first few weeks on the live servers.

Price, Platforms and Where to Play

Street Fighter 6 remains available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through Steam, with full cross-play between all of them, so Arjun is playable against any opponent regardless of platform from day one. Outside of the Year 4 passes, Capcom is selling him as a standalone purchase through the in-game Fighter Coin shop, the same system it has used for every DLC fighter since the base game launched in 2023. A second outfit for Arjun unlocks either by maxing out his Acquisition Gauge in World Tour's Avatar Arcade Mode or by buying it outright with Fighter Coins, matching the cosmetic structure Capcom introduced for Yasmine in August.

What's Still Coming in Year 4

Arjun's launch leaves two more Year 4 fighters on the schedule. Tifa Lockhart, confirmed for Street Fighter 6 at Summer Game Fest in June, is set for an early 2027 release alongside a reworked take on her Final Fantasy VII moveset, and Capcom has said an iconic element of that game will carry over into her battle system. Bosch, the pass's fourth and final character, follows in spring 2027. Capcom has not detailed either fighter's kit beyond those windows, but with Arjun now live, Street Fighter 6's Year 4 content is officially half finished.
