Football Manager 27's Free Launch Preview Puts Shuffle Draft to the Test Before Nov. 10
Sports Interactive's free Launch Preview puts the public inside Football Manager 27 before its November 10 release, debuting Shuffle Draft and a reworked match day.
Sports Interactive has thrown open the doors to Football Manager 27 more than a week before launch. A free-to-play Launch Preview went live on PC and Mac on October 29 and runs through November 3, giving anyone with Steam, Epic Games Store or the Microsoft Store a full, unlimited build of the game to test before the paid release on November 10.
What the Launch Preview Actually Unlocks
This is not a capped demo. Sports Interactive has confirmed the Launch Preview carries every game mode planned for release, including Career mode, custom leagues and the brand-new online multiplayer mode detailed below. Anyone who buys FM27 before launch can keep their Launch Preview save running straight through to November 10, when the full FM27 release unlocks on PC, with FM27 Console arriving on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and FM27 Mobile launching through Netflix the same day.
SEGA has been upfront that club badges, kits and some player likenesses may still be missing or placeholder while final licensing is confirmed, so progress made now should hold up, even if a handful of visuals change by the time the servers go fully live.
Shuffle Draft Breaks the Fantasy Draft Mould
The headline new feature is Shuffle Draft, an online multiplayer mode built with FIFAe that reworks the series' old Fantasy Draft concept from the ground up. Hosts can run lobbies of anywhere from two to 32 managers, either privately or in open matchmaking, and structure the competition as a Knockout Cup, a Group plus Knockout bracket, or a full season-long League.
Instead of taking turns picking from a shared pool, every manager in Shuffle Draft drafts simultaneously from their own rotating set of 20 players, bookmarking names they want to come back to before passing the set along. Player pools can be built from curated groups such as Wonderkids or Veterans, from attribute-based sets like Leadership or Physical, or from fully custom filters by nationality, reputation and division, with quality tiers running from Mixed up to Highest. Squads land at 14, 16, 18 or 20 players, and up to five scheduled Re-Drafts let hosts swap up to 20 players in or out of the pool mid-tournament.

A Match Day Rebuilt Around Atmosphere
Sports Interactive's third pre-launch feature breakdown focused entirely on what happens once the whistle blows. Crowd models have been reworked to show real emotion, with fans dressing for the weather, waving club flags scaled to the importance of the fixture, and crowd audio that shifts with a club's size and division. Stadiums get a wider variety of stands, roofs and corners, with lighting and surroundings that track the calendar, from browning leaves in autumn to a lush, sunlit pitch in summer.
A new time-of-day system lets an early kickoff drift from daylight into floodlights over the course of 90 minutes, rain now visibly soaks the turf, and snow leaves a fresh layer across the pitch. Pre-match cutscenes vary their camera work by how much is riding on the fixture, long-tenured managers can earn a tifo from the home end, and close-up shots now show individually modelled 3D grass. Sports Interactive has cautioned that the footage shown so far comes from a development build and may still shift before release.
Licensing, New Leagues and Where You Can Play
FM27 adds full licensing for France's Arkema Première Ligue, the top flight of women's football there, alongside the ROSHN Saudi League with all 18 of its clubs represented. The roster of playable nations climbs to 59 overall. On the platform side, FM27 launches day one on Steam, Epic Games Store and the Xbox PC app, and is included for subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass from day one on PC.

What to Watch Before November 10
With the Launch Preview already running, the real test for FM27 is whether a famously deep franchise can land its most visible interface and presentation overhaul in years without breaking what longtime managers already rely on. Shuffle Draft gives the series a genuinely new competitive hook alongside the usual Career mode grind, and the preview window means the verdict from actual players, not just marketing footage, will be in well before launch day.
Anyone curious can jump into the free preview on PC or Mac through November 3, carry a pre-order save straight into the window after that, or simply wait for the full release across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and mobile on November 10.
Experience an elevated match day atmosphere in #FM27 Enjoy a richer spectacle through improved crowds, stadiums and dynamic cutscenes that make every fixture feel like a piece of football theatre. Out from 10 Nov 🗓️
