Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition's Launch Trailer Brings Jin Sakai Back for Most Wanted

Sucker Punch's October 1 launch trailer unveils Echoes of Sekigahara and the Most Wanted survival mode, where Ghost of Tsushima's Jin Sakai returns as a playable fighter.

Sucker Punch Productions marked Ghost of Yōtei's first anniversary on October 1 by releasing Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, and the studio sent it off with an official launch trailer posted to PlayStation's regional YouTube channels alongside the release. The video is built around the two pieces of paid content the Complete Edition bundles together: a narrative expansion called Echoes of Sekigahara and a roguelike-inspired survival mode called Most Wanted.

The trailer opens on the same wind-swept vision of Ezo that defined the original game, then cuts between combat footage from both additions. It is the clearest look yet at how Atsu's story continues beyond the credits of Ghost of Yōtei, and at the returning face players have been asking about since Most Wanted was first teased back in September.

Echoes of Sekigahara fills in Atsu's past

Echoes of Sekigahara is a single-player narrative expansion split between two timelines. In the present day, Atsu explores a previously unseen valley once controlled by a warlord called The Snake and his followers, the Vipers. In flashback sequences, players relive Atsu's time at the historical Battle of Sekigahara and meet Nagato, a figure from her past who has since resurfaced in Ezo.

Sucker Punch says the expansion adds new enemy types, heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes on top of the story content, continuing the studio's pattern of pairing narrative DLC with fresh combat options rather than cosmetic-only rewards.

Most Wanted turns survival into a roguelike

The second half of the trailer is dedicated to Most Wanted, a combat survival mode built around repeatable bounty runs rather than a linear story. Players take on contracts, defeat waves of enemies to earn perks, and unlock additional playable characters as they progress through increasingly difficult runs.

The headline reveal is Jin Sakai, the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima, who joins Most Wanted as a fully playable fighter with all four of his signature stances intact. He is joined by Atsu, who fights with dual katana, Oyuki, who wields a kusarigama, and Nagato, who favors a yari polearm.

What the Complete Edition actually includes

Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition costs $69.99 for players who don't already own the base game, and bundles the original campaign, the free online co-op mode Ghost of Yōtei Legends, Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted together in one package. Anyone who already owns Ghost of Yōtei can add the new story and survival content separately through a $14.99 Complete Edition Upgrade.

Owners who buy either option digitally ahead of the launch window receive an early unlock of the Sakai Armor, a nod to Jin's family armor from Ghost of Tsushima that Atsu can wear in the base game. Sucker Punch has also pushed a free patch to every Ghost of Yōtei owner, Complete Edition or not, adding a screensaver-style Beauty of Yōtei mode, new music tracks for the game's cinematic Watanabe Mode, and a high-contrast accessibility option.

Legends co-op rides along for free

The Complete Edition doesn't stop at the two paid additions. It also folds in Ghost of Yōtei Legends, the online co-op mode Sucker Punch launched after the base game, which supports up to four players across several objective-based modes that build toward a climactic Raid. Legends was already free for anyone who owned Ghost of Yōtei, but bundling it into the Complete Edition means new players get the entire year of post-launch content in a single purchase instead of hunting down separate updates.

That structure matters for how the trailer is cut. Rather than treating Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted and Legends as three disconnected pitches, Sucker Punch frames all of it as one package built around a single idea: a year after launch, Ghost of Yōtei is bigger, not just patched.

A deliberate anniversary release

Sucker Punch timed the Complete Edition to land exactly one year after Ghost of Yōtei's original launch, framing Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted as a thank-you to the community rather than a stripped-down post-launch update. The studio has not announced further story content for Ghost of Yōtei beyond this release, and has not said whether Jin Sakai's role in Most Wanted will extend to any future expansion.

For now, the launch trailer stands as Sucker Punch's clearest statement of intent: a full year after release, Ghost of Yōtei is getting a genuine content expansion rather than a victory lap, and longtime fans of Ghost of Tsushima finally get to put Jin back into a fight.
