Auroch Digital's new trailer sets Warhammer Survivors' November 10 launch across PS5, Xbox, Switch and PC, and reveals six new playable champions.

Auroch Digital has set a date for its grimdark take on the survivors genre. A new trailer published October 6 by Games Workshop's official Warhammer channel confirms Warhammer Survivors launches November 10 across PC, consoles and mobile, and introduces six playable champions joining the roster for launch.

The 97-second spot cuts between the 41st Millennium and the Mortal Realms, showing Space Marines and Stormcast Eternals mowing down swarms of enemies in the same hand-drawn pixel style Auroch Digital built for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, before landing on the November 10 release date.

Two battlefields, one engine

Footage from the trailer splits cleanly down the setting line. On the Warhammer 40,000 side, Astra Militarum Guardsmen dig in alongside a Leman Russ-pattern tank as a tide of purple, claw-handed xenos pours across a muddy field, skull pickups scattering with every kill. On the Age of Sigmar side, a gold-and-blue Stormcast Eternal slams a warhammer into an orruk horde inside a ruined temple, clearing a path through dozens of enemies in a single swing. Both scenes are built from the same core loop: pick a champion, auto-attack the waves that keep arriving, and spend the run stacking weapons and passives until the screen is more projectile than enemy.

That loop belongs to poncle, the Vampire Survivors studio co-developing Warhammer Survivors with Auroch Digital under license from Games Workshop. It's an unusual pairing on paper, a breakout indie bullet-heaven format bolted onto two of tabletop gaming's biggest properties, but Auroch Digital has already proven it can handle Warhammer 40,000 with care: Boltgun's 2023 release was built as a loving throwback to Build Engine shooters and earned the studio enough goodwill from both fans and Games Workshop to take on a bigger crossover.

Six champions revealed for launch

The new trailer names the latest additions to the roster alongside champions confirmed in earlier reveals. The confirmed launch-week lineup now includes:

  • Malum Caedo, the Space Marine Sternguard Veteran who first appeared in Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun
  • Trooper Kozlowski, an Astra Militarum conscript thrown into the fight with little more than a lasgun
  • Brother Luca, a Black Templars initiate
  • Neave Blacktalon, a Stormcast Eternal cleaving through Skaven hordes
  • Gotrek Gurnisson, the Age of Sigmar incarnation of Warhammer's famed Slayer
  • Sharynn Azurwrath, a champion built specifically for this crossover

Auroch Digital has said the full roster will top 40 playable champions drawn from both universes, backed by an arsenal of more than 75 weapons at launch, including the Boltgun, the Astartes Chainsword, Whirlwind Axes and, as a running in-joke for tabletop veterans, a humble pot of Nuln Oil.

Platforms, price and a Game Pass day one

Auroch Digital has confirmed Warhammer Survivors for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC via GOG and Steam, plus iOS and Android, with every platform launching together on November 10. The game is priced at $7.99 / £6.39 / €7.49, with a 10 percent launch and pre-order discount available on select storefronts, and it joins Xbox Game Pass on day one, giving subscribers a no-cost way to try the crossover at launch.

A free demo is already live

Players don't have to wait until November to get a feel for the combat. A free demo has been available on Steam since earlier this year, offering a preview build of the run structure and combat loop well ahead of the full release. It's the clearest look yet at how Auroch Digital has scaled Vampire Survivors' formula up to Warhammer's level of spectacle, with screen-filling waves of enemies, stacking weapon upgrades and the kind of escalating chaos the bullet-heaven genre has built its audience on.

Why the crossover matters

Games Workshop has licensed Warhammer settings to dozens of studios over the decades, but folding two of its biggest universes into one of gaming's most replayable current formats is a newer kind of bet, and one that leans heavily on Auroch Digital's Boltgun pedigree to make the fit feel earned rather than opportunistic. With a release date now locked to November 10, a Game Pass debut on day one and a demo already in players' hands, Warhammer Survivors is shaping up to be one of the more closely watched licensed spinoffs of the year's back half, for Warhammer fans and bullet-heaven regulars alike.
