Digital Eclipse's Toy Story 3 Complete Edition and Retro Roundup Launch Today
Digital Eclipse's 4K remaster of the PS3 classic and a six-game Retro Roundup collection both land today, marking 30 years since the first Toy Story game.
Andy's room is open for business again. Toy Story 3 Complete Edition and the six-game compilation Toy Story: Retro Roundup! both go live today, October 15, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and PC. Developer Digital Eclipse and publisher Atari timed the pair to land roughly 30 years after Pixar put Woody and Buzz Lightyear into their first video game, and between a PS3-era remaster and a stack of console-and-handheld originals, there is a lot of toy chest to dig through.

A Present for Toy Story's 30th Birthday
Digital Eclipse first revealed the double release back in June, and the studio has leaned hard into the anniversary framing ever since. Toy Story 3 Complete Edition is a from-the-ground-up remaster of the 2010 3D adventure, while Retro Roundup! gathers up the handheld and console games that surrounded the original trilogy of films, from the Sega Genesis in 1995 through to the PlayStation one era. Both can be bought separately for $25, or as a physical two-game pack on PlayStation and Switch for $40; Xbox players only get the digital versions.
What Changes in Toy Story 3 Complete Edition
The headline upgrade is technical: Toy Story 3 Complete Edition targets 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on current-generation consoles and PC, with reworked lighting, shadows and textures layered over the original Story Mode and Toy Box Mode. Digital Eclipse has also folded in content that was previously locked to the PlayStation 3 version back in 2010, so players who only owned the Xbox 360 or Wii release are finally getting the fuller edition. Toy Box Mode, the open Wild West sandbox built around Woody's Roundup, returns with the same building tools the original developers used, plus four additional Theme Packs and series villain Emperor Zurg as a playable character.
“We're excited for players to jump back into Toy Story 3 and experience the creativity, humor and heart that makes Toy Story such a landmark franchise.”Mike Mika, President of Digital Eclipse

Retro Roundup Packs Five Games Into One Toy Chest
Retro Roundup! is the more unusual half of the release. It bundles eleven total versions of six games: the 1995 Toy Story platformer on Genesis, SNES and Game Boy; Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue! and its separate Game Boy Color sequel; Buzz Lightyear of Star Command; Toy Story Racer; and a bonus inclusion of the 1998 A Bug's Life game, spread across PlayStation and Game Boy Color. According to Digital Eclipse, it's also the first time several of the handheld versions, and the original Genesis and SNES games, have ever been rereleased. Every game ships with rewind, save states anywhere, optional visual filters, and NTSC and PAL versions of the earliest titles for players who grew up on either standard.
Hands-On Time at Summer Game Fest
Press got an early look months ahead of launch. At Summer Game Fest in June, outlets including Game Informer went hands-off with both games at Atari's booth and came away describing a collection built for both nostalgia and accessibility: a guided Practice Mode that lets players take over mid-playthrough, an illustrated "How to Play" guide with selectable localization, and Rex's Cheat Codes for unlimited lives, level skips and invincibility in Retro Roundup!, aimed squarely at parents replaying the games with a new generation of kids rather than series veterans chasing a challenge.
A Virtual Museum Built by the People Who Made It
Both packages include an in-game museum of archival material and new behind-the-scenes interviews, a format Digital Eclipse previously used on its Disney Afternoon Collection and Disney Classic Games Collection compilations. The developer's official game page lists participants including Pixar story head Jason Katz, Toy Story games voice actor Jim Hanks, Disney and Pixar Games VP and GM Luigi Priore, and Traveller's Tales founder Jon Burton, whose studio developed several of the original games now preserved in Retro Roundup!. Digital Eclipse president Mike Mika framed the double release as a tribute to the original PS3 game when it was announced in June.
