Luma Island's Cozy Farm Sim Comes to PS5 and Xbox With Four-Player Crossplay
Feel Free Games is bringing its 800,000-player farming adventure to PS5 and Xbox Series with full day-one cross-platform co-op for up to four players.
Feel Free Games is taking its breakout cozy farming adventure beyond PC. Luma Island is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the developer confirmed on the PlayStation Blog on September 24, and for the first time the game will support full cross-platform play, letting friends farm, fish and explore together no matter which console they own.
A Console Debut Built Around Crossplay
The headline feature of the console release is day-one cross-play across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Up to four players will be able to team up in a single save, splitting chores like planting crops, feeding animals and hunting treasure across a shared island. Feel Free Games says the multiplayer structure was designed so that a mixed group of consoles and PC never has to sit out of the same session.
Players can still play solo. The world spans forests, mountains, jungles, caves, ancient temples and a Pirate Cove added in last year's Pirates update, and all of it is searchable for hidden treasure and puzzle rooms rather than being purely decorative scenery around the farm.
Eight Professions and No Stamina Meter
Luma Island lets players pick from eight professions, including Archaeologist, Blacksmith, Brewer, Cook, Fisherman, Jeweler, Shipwright and Treasure Hunter, each unlocking its own tools, recipes and progression path. Players are not locked into a single calling either; additional professions can be purchased and swapped between as a save progresses.
The game also drops two mechanics common to the genre: there is no stamina bar limiting how much work players can do in a day, and no inventory cap forcing constant trips back to storage. Feel Free Games has pointed to both as deliberate choices meant to keep the loop relaxed rather than a race against a clock.
Three difficulty modes, Cozy, Adventure and Hero, adjust how much challenge the exploration and combat side of the game brings, letting the same save work for players who just want to decorate a farm and others chasing tougher dungeon puzzles and boss encounters.

Companions Called Lumas
Beyond farming, the game's namesake mechanic has players hunting for eggs hidden across the island to hatch Lumas, magical companions that follow the player and help sniff out buried treasure. According to the game's background, the hunt for Lumas and the mystery behind the island's ancient prophecy sit alongside the farming as the game's other throughline, giving the exploration side a reason to keep pushing into new areas beyond the home plot.
From a Breakout PC Launch to Consoles
Luma Island first launched on Steam in November 2024 and has since passed 800,000 players, a run Feel Free Games credits for making the console jump possible. The PC version has kept growing since then, with the Pirates expansion in mid-2025 adding new areas, companions and the shipwright profession that carries over into the console builds.
Bram Eisenhardt, Lead Developer at Feel Free Games, framed the console release as a continuation of that growth rather than a separate launch:
Wishlisting Now, Release Window Still to Come
Feel Free Games has not set an exact release date for the PS5 and Xbox Series versions, only confirming a 2026 window. Both storefronts opened wishlists alongside the announcement, and the developer says the console builds will carry over the full feature set from the current PC release rather than launching as a stripped-down port.
The studio's own channels, including its official site and Feel Free Games' own page, are expected to detail a firm date closer to launch, and the PC version remains available and discounted on Steam in the meantime.

What It Means for Cozy Co-op
Cross-platform support remains rare outside a handful of breakout life-sim hits, and Luma Island joining that list gives console players one more persistent, low-pressure co-op world to settle into. With console versions still unannounced for a specific date, the next concrete milestone to watch for is a release window narrowing from "2026" to an actual month, likely to arrive through Feel Free Games' own channels or a future PlayStation or Xbox showcase.
